Good Fuel Support – Help with the Offline Fuel Log for iPhone

Good Fuel is a minimalist fuel and mileage log that records consumption, costs and efficiency per vehicle – fully offline, without a cloud and without a mandatory account. The app is made for commuters, frequent drivers and households with several cars who want to document their fuel costs properly and export reports for tax purposes or their employer. This support page explains setup, vehicle profiles, CSV export and iCloud backup. If values are missing after an import, a calculation looks wrong or you miss a feature for an electric or hybrid vehicle, please get in touch via the form at the bottom of the page.

Offline fuel log for iPhone – frequently asked questions

1. Getting started: how do I set up Good Fuel?
Open the app → add a vehicle (name, fuel type, optional photo). Log your first fill-up: litres, price per litre, total, station, odometer. Optionally add workshop visits and maintenance: category, note, receipt as photo/PDF. Add widgets to see consumption, cost per month and your last fill-up on the home screen. After 5–10 complete fill-ups, the on-device AI starts making reliable forecasts.
2. How do I log a fill-up correctly?
Filling the tank completely improves the accuracy of the consumption figure (L/100 km). Fields: litres, price per litre, total, station, odometer. Partial fill-ups are possible but can temporarily skew the forecast. Tip: add a photo of the receipt as proof.
3. How does the on-device AI forecast work?
It runs entirely on your iPhone (MLX) – no cloud, no data transfer. The model learns from your history (season, route, driving style, price and consumption trends). It shows a model confidence that increases with more data. Recommendation: start with 5–10 complete fill-ups for good initial values.
4. What does “no tracking” mean – do you record trips in the background?
No. Good Fuel tracks nothing in the background and never collects location data without you. Trips and routes: you record trips deliberately (e.g. manually or by importing GPX). No hidden recording.
5. How do I use trips and routes (map, speed, GPX)?
In the Trips tab, create a new trip or import a GPX file. The map visualises the route with speed colours (gradient). You can export as GPX or PDF (e.g. for records or your archive).
6. How are consumption and costs calculated?
Consumption: by default L/100 km, based on your odometer readings and fuel amounts. Cost per km, monthly and yearly totals and price trends are generated automatically from your entries. If values look off, check units, odometer gaps, partial fill-ups and dates.
7. Multiple vehicles – is that possible?
Yes. Create as many vehicle profiles as you like (e.g. car, motorbike, van). Each vehicle has its own statistics, maintenance history, forecast and exports.
8. What data can I export?
CSV (localised columns, comma or semicolon), PDF (reports, receipt collection) and GPX (routes). You will find export under “Export and ownership” in the menu. Exports belong to you – you can back them up or process them further at any time.
9. How do I add and manage widgets?
Long-press the home screen → choose Good Fuel → select widget type and size. Available widgets: last price, average consumption, monthly total, workshop summary. Data is updated on-device; open the app briefly if Apple refreshes widgets with a delay.
10. Offline use and privacy
The app works fully offline. No accounts, no trackers, no ads. Settings and data stay locally on your device; you control the exports.
11. Which devices and versions are supported?
iPhone with a current iOS version (see the App Store page for the exact minimum). Apple backs up iCloud and device data system-wide; the app does not need its own cloud sync.
12. Receipts: photos and PDFs – anything to keep in mind?
Make sure photos are readable (straight, enough light). You can share PDFs directly from Mail or Files to Good Fuel. For tax or company purposes, please check the formal requirements of your authority separately.
13. Is Good Fuel a tax-compliant (GoBD) mileage log?
No. Please note: Good Fuel is not a certified tax-compliant (GoBD) logbook. For mandatory, audit-proof documentation, please use specialised solutions.
14. Pricing and languages
Buy once, use forever. No subscriptions. Multilingual: DE / EN / FR / IT / ES / PT. Light/dark: the system theme is supported.
