NetRadar Pro Support — help for the network scanner for Android

NetRadar Pro is a visual network scanner for Android. The app shows you in real time every device on your Wi-Fi, including IP address, vendor, ping and (optionally) open ports. Ideal for smart-home households, IT admins and anyone who wants to know what is on their network. The app works fully offline — no cloud, no tracking, no account. This support page covers setup, device discovery, mDNS, port scans and export. For issues or feature requests use the form at the bottom of the page.

NetRadar Pro — frequently asked questions

1. What does NetRadar Pro do exactly?
NetRadar Pro scans your local Wi-Fi/LAN and shows every reachable device with IP address, MAC, vendor, ping latency and (optionally) open ports. The app runs fully offline and is especially helpful to identify smart-home gadgets, unknown clients or network issues.
2. Which Android version is required?
Android 8.0 (Oreo) or newer. For mDNS / Bonjour discovery (Apple, AirPlay and Chromecast devices) we recommend Android 10+. No root permission is required to scan ports.
3. Do I need an internet connection?
No. NetRadar Pro works fully offline — the app only communicates with devices on your own network. No data is sent to us or any third party.
4. Why doesn't the app find every device on my network?
Some devices (e.g. printers, IoT gadgets or firewalls) ignore ICMP ping or ARP broadcasts. Enable mDNS discovery and UPnP scan in the settings — that finds a lot more smart-home devices. If your router has client-isolation mode enabled, devices are additionally cut off from each other.
5. What are "open ports" and is scanning safe?
A port is an entry point where a device offers a service (e.g. port 80 = web server, 22 = SSH). NetRadar Pro only scans in your local network — that is legal and safe. Scanning other people's networks without permission can have legal consequences.
6. Can I export scan results?
Yes. Under "History" you can export previous scans as CSV or JSON — including timestamps, device name, MAC and ping values. Handy for inventory or for sending a snapshot to IT support.
7. How do I rename devices or mark my own?
Long-press on a device → "Edit". Here you can set a friendly name (e.g. "Fritzbox", "Sonos Kitchen"). You can mark your own devices as "Owned" so they stand out in scans.
8. Price & updates
Pay once, use forever. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases. All updates are free — including new features and Android-version updates.
Thank you for using NetRadar Pro — and for helping us keep improving the app!
